As I look back over the year, one of the things that I am most grateful for is that theatre doesn’t hit the radar screens of those that want to control the future of education. I really do pity the teachers of any of the academics. Read more

My Sunny Senior Summer Face
Here is my face as I entered my summer before senior year of high school. It is clear to see why I am known for all of my joy and optimism. I am not sure why I was so particularly grim this June in 1976. A Few Too Many for the Road
I have said good-bye to these seniors almost every night for the past two weeks. We have a final class together and we all have our goodbyes. Then we have a department meeting for all the theatre majors to say goodbye to the seniors. Then the parents want to have a banquet for all of the seniors to say goodbye. Then we will have graduation and then every parent of every senior will want to have a get-together to say goodbye. I have actually said goodbye to some seniors more then I have ever said welcome. Not a Clue
Today is the final stretch of juries for the year. For the last two weeks we have heard/seen every performance student in the department work their way through either a scene or a monologue. Truly, we saw the good, bad, and ugly of the department. It was great to see that for a few actors they were finally beginning to pull their classes of voice, momement, acting, and analysis together and create a good scene. All of the parts were beginning to be sewn together. Read more
